Lately I’ve been finding many more shops with Peyote stitch styles. Luckily its not an overwhelming amount of crafters like myself.
This new found discovery is creating a weird feeling for me.. There is an urge to rush and complete a bunch of earrings. In a way, to get my ideas out FIRST. But then I step back and realize that feeling has a strong competitive quality, one to embrace and then let go. Don’t take me wrong, I want to create amazing product, quickly. I just don’t enjoy the anxiety that goes with the feeling.
I’m graciously adding all found peyote stitchers in my circle. I hope this idea doesn’t bite me in the but later down the line….Regardless, I’m doing it. If there are more crafters like the Peyote gang, maybe we’ll start a trend and take over the world! We’ve got to come together somehow to create more exposure for our superb skill 😉

I’ve been beading all my life but have yet to bead the winning pair of Artisan earrings.
As i completed my daily search through Etsy, looking for Peyote,brick stitch jewelry, i finally came across another shop like mine.
I am thrilled to see someone else bead weaving like myself and creating gorgeous patterns and styles. Its ironic that i would find this shop now considering a recent thread found on an Etsy team.
A woman was ranting about someone whom favorited her item and later duplicated it for their shop. So today as i gawked at the new peyote jewelry shop i hesitated on Favoriting the shop for fear the shop owner may notice my future items resembling hers.
The difference between my situation and the woman from the Etsy team is that I am already a peyote bead weaver. I haven’t bought Miyuki Delica beads, until now, because I couldn’t afford another bead splurge.
Let me inform you I recently moved from Hawaii to Mendocino County with my dear boyfriend. This isn’t the town I’m going to find a job, so I am focusing my energy on my craft.
I am not duplicating or mimicking the styles of this newly found etsy shop I am simply inspired. Inspired to be the best and do the best.
My daily searches through etsy were in search of motivation. It is amazing to see another crafty person developing and creating the way I do.
I will use this as a lesson.
We all have original ideas. We are all inspired by one another. There are no rules to creativity and creation except that we must not take possession of what we create.
If you don’t believe in GOD, then believe in the high power of creativity and inspiration. Creativity does not take possession of our results and products nor does Inspiration take ownership of what we create.
Lets do the same. I will start with myself.

Using expertise craftsmanship, each seed bead is individually weaved to create a unique patterned jewelry design by Seed Dreams.
This rare ancient weaving technique of peyote is not to be mistaken by the psychedelic hallucinogen that is used for spiritual ritual amongst various Native peoples.
For centuries, the Peyote stitch is used amongst native Indians across Northern America and people throughout Africa. This form of glass bead weaving requires years of practice to create a reflected work of art.
A single earring may take the artist 1-3 hours of meticulous concentration to insure two earrings will have the same pattern and size. A pair of earrings can total 2-6 hours of time from the first bead to the final weave. Designs are not plotted out before production but developed as each bead is strung to the needle. This insures art is always one of kind, handmade with intricate detail and long lasting. Many pieces are adorned with precious stones, organic and dyed coral, fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals and other unique feature beads.
